AACVPR Joint Pilot Program

June 2010 - We would like to notify you of an exciting new opportunity and change within to our affiliate structure. We have been selected (along with two other affiliates) as a Pilot Program with the National organization, American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). The Board of RMCRA voted at the Annual Conference to proceed with this opportunity. There are only two pilot programs that have joined with National in the U.S. (Michigan and Ohio). Beginning July 1, 2010, all members of National AACVPR will also become RMCRA members.

Please read this letter from Denise LaRocca, MS, RCEP, FAACVPR, President of RMCRA for more information.

Clarification for Members regarding Benchmarking:

  1. RMCRA recommends that Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab programs in the region (Colorado, Wyoming & New Mexico) join a registry if they are not already participating. Several programs within RMCRA belong to the Montana Outcome Registry. The general consensus from RMCRA programs is tracking their outcomes does not necessarily mean more time and resources from the program.
  2. If you are interested in joining a registry, there are several available for your consideration. Please visit the AACVPR website Members Only section. The list for options includes “Outcomes Resource Guide” and can give you some direction in choosing a registry.

If you have any questions about outcomes, please contact Denise LaRocca or AACVPR.

ACSM's Clinical Exercise Physiology Association (CEPA) Internship Directory

The first version of the directory has been posted on the CEPA (www.acsm-cepa.org) website and access is free to CEPA members. There is no cost to be listed in the directory and we are looking to add to the directory with additional sites.

If you would like your site added to the directory, please fill out an internship review site form. The internship directory is updated quarterly and CEPA will include your information in the next update. This form, along with an internship review form for students after completion of an internship, are also available on the CEPA website under Student Resources.
