Summary: Assess and treat patients in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation programs. Design and implement exercise and education components of Phase I, II and III/IV Cardiac Rehabilitation classes, and Phase II Pulmonary Rehab classes as indicated in Patient Care Standards. Responsible for carrying out routine patient care assignments on unit(s) assigned, performing established procedures for individuals or groups of patients, utilizing age-specific guidelines.
Requirements: Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or Kinesiology from an accredited college or university required. One to two years experience in the field preferred.
DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Satisfactory demonstration of knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary patients' response to exercise and knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary medications. American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Specialist certification within 18 months of hire preferred. ACLS certification required within one year of hire. BLS required.
